Witherslack in Cumbria: George and Norah Gott 2000

Witherslack is a quiet area of south Cumbria.  This bench is on a track from Millside, off the A590.  We found it when walking from the nearby campsite one sunny winters day in February 2009.

The bench commemorates George and Norah Gott, who both died in the year 2000; George was four years older than Norah.

The plaque reads ‘Remembering George and Norah Gott of Sunny Hollow’.  Sunny Hollow is a nearby cottage and presumably the loved home of George and Norah Gott.
